Dear Santa

Dear Santa Claus,

My name is Latu and I am 8 years old. I just hope you are rested up from delivering presents last year. I just want you to know that I have been good this year. I have been listening to my parents.

This year I would really really like new shoes for school and legos and a doll I want to start a collection.

Thank you Santa Claus for the presents that you gave me last year and say hello to the reindeer for me.

In the hoildays

During the holidays, I woke up and ate breakfast then I got dressed to go to the shop. We went to kmart to get my dad some clothes. We got him t-shirts and shoes also some socks and I got new shoes and new pencils and ballpoint pens and 2 sharpeners. 

Then we went to the ice-cream shop to get some. I got 2 scoops of ice-cream,my dad got scoops and my mum got 2 scoops and my baby got 1 scoop. 

Then we all went to the park to play there. After we went home ‘shhhh’, I’m having a nap. I had fun with my family.  

Recount Writing

In the weekend I woke up and had breakfast. We went outside to do work. We were cleaning the cars and the house and also the gardens.

After that we went to the kfc to eat there we was so so full. We all got in the car to go back home. When we got home my mum went to shower  and then my dad. I went for a shower after him.

Later we went to sleep.

 In the long desert there lived meerkats. One meerkat woke up then fell asleep. He woke all the meerkats up so they can go outside to look at the fruit. After an hour, this hawk came to eat the fruit. So the hawk took the fruit and all the meerkats worked together to get the fruit back. Then they started to fight, so they were hanging onto the hawks feet while it was flying. All of them hung onto each others legs so they could get the fruit. They tried and tried, then they got it back from the hawk! So they. Played rugby with it then one meerkat kicked the fruit then it cracked open then they were very upset they lost their fruit!

Spring Writing

As I am walking I can smell peaceful smell all around me I can feel these lovely sweet flowers coming towards my body I can hear lots of birds chirping and lots of bees and butterflies  around the flowers. I can see these smells runs through the whole place. I feel so so happy to be there and these smells makes me confident because. I feel happy about the whole place.

rata me te rakau rata and the tree

I have been reading the book 'Rata me te rakau - Rata and the tree.' I hope you like my retelling of the story.

"Long ago there lived a man called Rata. He needs to make a big waka for his people so they can be safe because there was a storm coming. So Rata started to look for a long tree that was tall and straight to make a big waka. He was looking and looking for a tree and he finally found the perfect tree. He started chopping and chopping till it fell down.

The next day he came back to the forest and he couldn’t believe his eyes! The tree was straight and tall again. He started chopping again. Then the next day he came back to the forest and he saw the tree straight and tall AGAIN. He he was angry. He pretended to leave but came back to hide in the bushes to see who was putting the tree back. He saw lots of insects and birds came out of the treetops and bushes.  They started to put the tree back together. Rata said “why are you doing this?”. They said its because you never thanked the forest. Rata apologised and said he was thinking with his head, not his heart.

The next day, Rata saw the insects and birds making big waka for Rata. He was thanking the insects and the birds for doing this for him. 

So he went to the village with the waka and he saved the people. The people were happy that they were safe and Rata promised to always thank the forest when he needs something".

Identity

My name is Latu Lisala-Moli and I am 8 years old. I was born in NZ but I am so proud to be a Tongan. My dad and mum are full Tongan. My dad’s name is Mikiloni Lisala-Moli and my mum’s name is Oliveia Lisala-Moli. I have two brothers and two sisters. Malo e lelei means hello and alu’a means goodbye. 

Our tongan traditions are valuable because kids need to respect their parents and obey them. 

I speak tongan and english at home and this is the Tongan flag.

Museum trip

At the museum I learnt about insect they told us lots of things about insects and it was fun. My favourite part was the spiders. It was a little scary. Then we went to the part with all the kiwis and we saw lots and lots of things. There were eggs and kiwis and elephants. Also some birds and some penguins that are getting their eggs out. I had fun.

A day in the holidays

In the holidays, I woke up and brushed my teeth, then I went to eat breakfast. I ate pizza for breakfast. After my breakfast I went for a bath. So I got out of the bath and we got dressed and ready to go. We all got in the car and we went to the library to go get some books for me. Meanwhile, my brothers were reading books while I go to play. After that, we went to the shop to get some clothes for my brothers. After we went to the park and then we went back home and went to sleep. I had fun with my family.

Dear Miss Elia, I am sad to see you go away from us and we miss you so much. 
I wish you could stay longer because we’ll be so sad without you.

All of a sudden....

We are playing outside with your friends when all of a sudden we saw a little girl singing "la la la la".

So we went to see where she was singing, because it sounded lovely. Then when we went CLOSER, she looked back at us creepily. She looked evil. 

We ran but she was following us so then we hid at the back of the bush so she couldn't see us. 

She was looking for us and she found us finally. 

We ran inside the strangers house then she didn’t find us so we were safe. 

Be safe around strangers.

Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms can cause a lot of damage and it can also get things on fire and it can hit people. 

Also it can damage a lot of buildings and trees too as high winds can knock trees over. 

It can kill some of the animals because they get scared and run everywhere. 

Put your animals inside and make sure that your animals are safe. 

Be safe and keep low and find a shelter and turn off power points and stay inside.

I heard a bang....

I heard a bang from downstairs but I was home alone because my mum and dad were going out for dinner. 

So then I went downstairs to see where the bang was coming from. But when I got downstairs, it was dark so I went back upstairs to peek out the window to see the bang.

 I didn’t see who was making the bang from the window, I was confused. But I saw my mum and dad in the distance, coming home. 

So I told my mum and dad about it and then I went back upstairs. I finally found out where the noise was coming from. It was coming from the forest outside. 

So then I went back to sleep, I heard the bang again so I went to see it but it stopped so I went back to sleep.

My Weekend

In the weekend I woke up and I cleaned the house and I was tired. After I got  to watch tv. I watched PJ Max. 

After my baby sister, dad and I went to the shops to get something for my mum. We got her some shoes and got her some clothes and some socks. Then we had to get clothes for my dad and baby sister. After that we went to pick up the pizza and we went to get the KFC too. 

After that, we went to get some drinks and we went home. We ate and drank until we were full. Then we watched TV. We watched Fight on the television. 

Then we were tired so we went for a nap. I had fun with my family.
